Jil Sander Fall 2011 - Sporty couture

February 27, 2011

“We will always try to be pure and minimalist, but you can’t survive on the idea of only this super-pure camel coat,” Simons said. “Women want to be challenged. I have a feeling high-fashion women like very much to be extreme.” For Fall Simons combined concepts of sportiness and couture shapes for an extremely wearable collection that preserved the exciting volume from Spring, but with changed proportions and more sleek silhouettes inspired by Diane Arbus and 1950s ski-wear. Accents - shoes inspired by the work of Jacques Adnet, a favorite decorator of the mid-century couture elite; floral prints reminded of a print by legendary fabric house Bucol, slicked back hair, red lips and blue eyeshadow.
